Thanks for your reply Dr. Korgol

I am going monday 10/27/14 for my repeat beta. Would it be safe to assume by my first beta number that this would not be a chemical pregnancy? Again, thank you.

Hi Doctor,

I had my second beta blood work done this past Monday, 10/27/14. The numbers came back at 520 from 47 (done on 10/24/14). They said those were good numbers and to come back this Friday to check the levels again. Is there a good chance the numbers will go up like they are supposed to? Would there be any signs at this point if i am going to miscarry?
Thanks so much.

Thanks doctor. I get nervous because of my age (43) and last year i got pregnant naturally and lost if due to Trisomy 16 which was determined by a D&C. i am concerned the same thing can happen this time. Since i got pg by IVF currently is there a better chance of having a successful pregnancy? Thank you in advance
doctor
Answered by Dr. Mahesh Koregol (35 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
Trisomy

Detailed Answer:
Hi

I read your query and I understand your concerns.

Following is my reply

1. The chances of chromosomal abnormalities like trisomy remain same whether you conceive naturally or by IVF.

2. It is not necessary that these anomalies have to repeat themselves. But there is no confirmation to say they wont.

3. These are possibilities due to increased age.

4. Please get ultrasound scan at 12 weeks along with triple marker blood test to assure no abnormalities like trisomy.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Hi doctor,
Thank your reply. I now have a question about symtoms. i am thinking i am 5 weeks now and besides the subtle twinges in my stomach, my breasts started to feel a little sore and have a dull lower back pain here and there. Today i my breasts dont really feel sore, do sypmtoms come and go or could this mean i could be losing this pregnancy? My HCG levels were at 1899 this past Friday 10/31 up from 520 on monday 10/27. Thank you in advance

Symptoms of pregnancy

Detailed Answer:
Hi

These symptoms are not related to pregnancy alone.

These symptoms occur due to minor hormonal variation in body.
