What Does A Lump On Upper Quadriceps Indicate?

Question: I am a 60 yr. old male and am a cyclist and weight lifter. I recently noticed a small, rubbery lump on the left upper quadraceps. Back in September, I had been going through a weight session, focusing on legs and I experienced a muscle pull in relatively the same area. The pull has been healed but now I notice this lump. Is it a result of this previous pull or possibly a tumor ? I am pretty concerned should it be the latter.

It is probably muscle related problem.

Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.

Most probably there is a synovial cyst (fluid filled of muscle covering), or herniated muscle through its fascia.

Another possibility may be a under skin enlarged fat gland ( atheroma).

Since there is relationship with a certain trauma in the past, the possibility of being a tumor is very low.

You could have a Echography of the lump in order to assess its true nature.
