What Does A Lump On The Collar Bone Indicate?

default
Posted on Thu, 17 Aug 2017
Question: I have a small lump on my collar bone that is beginning to sting a bit from time to time. It's not affecting my ability to use my arm or cause any other issues. But sometimes the stinging is accompanied by a sharp needle like pain. What is this?

I noticed the area about 2 months ago. It is at the base of my collar bone at the throat area. No skin color change and had it not been for the stinging and occasional sharp needle pain I would not have noticed it. The pain does not radiate. I do not have any xrays of this issue yet. It is roughly the size of the cap from a bottle of rubbing alcohol. It doesn't interfere with my day to easy activities.
