What Does A Cystic Lesion As Per The MRI Reports Indicate?
Question: Hi , my father 65 years of age has cyctic lesion 1.5 year back which during attack has resulted tilted face & voice blurring. Post one week of hospitalization & continued medication he was ok .. then again it happened 3 months back & was hospitalized again and became ok .. now 2 weeks back again he got a attack but this time recovery is slow & also his left hand grip has become very weak . I am attaching latest MRI report ( 3days back) and doctor prescription . Can you advise way ahead.. also he is diabetes patient

I have noted the clinical details and also seen the MRI report of your father. He is suffering from infection in the left side of brain, most probably tapeworm infection (also called neuro cysticercosis). The treatment is going on with correct medicines. The only extra medicine I can suggest is steroid (prednisolone) for a few days, as he has swelling in the brain. You can discuss this with his neurologist.

local doctor has not advised steroid and asked to continue medicine for 10 days. His right hand grip has become negligible and also some swelling is there.. Do you think it's right.

thanks .... can we assume once swelling decreases with medicine ...his voice and hand will start functioning normally
