What Does A Bump Under The Left-side Of The Navel Indicate?

default
Posted on Tue, 24 Oct 2017
Question: On the left side of my navel there is a thickening underneath my skin. I have a very flat stomach and I can feel it with my hand in the resting position. When I do something strenuous or reach out too far with my hands (extending my arms) my stomach on that left side becomes knotted and very restricted. I start to massage it and it takes about two miners for it to subside. There is not a lot pain it is just very uncomfortable. The pain does not happen every day but the thickening is always there.

The left side is raise about 4x4 inches, about a 1/4 inch high. The shape is oval but it is not a raised lump. It starts next to the belly button and extends for about 4 inches towards my side.
It raises slightly when I cough or strain.
It seems that the area becomes knotted when I strain my left arm out or extend it or turn sharply. I feel an ache in that area when I bend down to pick up something.
It does not hurt when I go to the bathroom.
There is no chance in color or texture of the skin.
When it happens I rub and push on the area until the pain goes away slightly.
