The sperms have to swim from the vagina through the uterus and reach the fallopian tube. The ovary releases eggs which are received by the fimbrial end of the tubes. Finally fertilization i.e egg meets sperm and a fetus(baby) is produced. If the test shows that fimbrial end is blocked then it means that the sperms have no access to the eggs. This is a minor surgical procedure where under anaesthesia a laparoscope or camera is placed inside your abdomen through a small incision in umbilicus and a colour XXXXXXX is pushed through the vagina and uterus similar to HSG. The exact location of the block in your tube is better visualised in laparoscopy. Besides fimbrial adhesions which may be there in your case as seen in hsg , they can be treated so that block is released and tubes become patent. Any other minor tube pathology is easily treated.
