Brief Answer:
Petit mal seizures management

Detailed Answer:
Hi Lacyamanda, thanks for asking from HCM.

I can understand your concern. You are experiencing aura like symptoms just before seizures. If you have missed any drug dose, it could be due to it.
Another reason could be

- Continous bright light exposure
- Fasting or low blood sugar.
- Mental stress
- Dehydration and electrolyte imbalance.
- Insomnia e.g. no sleep in night.

If any of the above factor is positive, try to avoid in future and for current situation, take Depakote tablet 500mg stat. If no factor is positive and seizure is occurring on its own, it could be due to

- Low blood level of antiepileptic medication.
- recurrent seizure disorder.

In such case, you need blood level of divalproate and Topiramate, if possible. If low, it means drug dose should be increased till blood level becomes normal. If normal, increase drug dose to control seizures. Increase in dose should be till maximum safe dose for you.
After controlling current episode, you must discuss above points with your treating doctor. You can send me your blood reports.
I will try my best to help you.
Thanks. Take care.
