What Do These Blood And Urine Reports Indicate?
Question: Hi doctor, I am 27 year and having on-off fever since day before yesterday, and my blood report is showing Monocytes 15, EPITHELIAL CELLS as 5-7 and presence of Bacteria in my urine test. Can you please help in diagnosing. Sometimes I have body ache and headache

Your concern is fully understandable. Your blood reports are grossly normal.
There's nothing to worry about. Your urine routine is also quite normal. Epithelial cells are from the skin surface only. Presence of bacteria in routine test, has to be confirmed with an urine culture test. If the urine culture test report shows a significant growth of bacteria, it's treated as urinary infection. Urinary infection could also be the cause of your low grade fever and malaise.
After you get the urine culture report, show it to your doctor and he/ she will be able to prescribe the required medication. The doctor may also prescribe paracetamol tablets, which helps to relieve your fever and body ache and headache.

Thanks Doc, for the quick answer. Just one more quick question, Is it ok to have Monocytes 15, I read it is somewhere that it may lead to chronic infection??
To give you the history, I had this quite serious UTI and Intestine infection which led swelling in my right kidney 2 months back. I hope things not getting repeated.

Looking at your recent history of kidney and intestinal infection, the presence of monocytes is understandable now. The urine monocytes are a kind of residual change of that episode. All the more reason to get your urine culture done, to be absolutely certain about urinary infection. As an Urologist, i would also request you get an Ultrasound scan of kidney, ureter and bladder (KUB ), done and show it to your doctor. The scan will help to know if the kidney has become normal.
