Posted on Sat, 10 Jan 2015
Question: I recently got a complete blood test done. Everything else looks normal but my LDL came out to be 123 and HDL 39. Is it something I should be worried about? Do I need medication for it??

Brief Answer:
LDL is pretty close to perfect, HDL needs some work.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX, Thanks for coming to HealthCareMagic. These labs are pretty close to normal. The LDL is just fine. It shows that your eating habits etc are fine.

HDL on the other hand is a bit low. It shows that your body is not getting enough exercise. So try and get at least 30 minutes of Cardio exercise done daily.

If the other labs were normal, I would expect that your total Cholesterol is normal.

Overall, no medications required. See if you can get a bit more excercise into your daily routine.

I hope this helps,

Vinay
