Question: I have had an open heart surgery (valve replacement) and since that I see a lot of small dots (white or black) covering things around me like furniture, cloth etc. Sometimes these dots replaced with some fancy circles, lines etc. Can you explain that?

Brief Answer:
Vitreous floaters.

Detailed Answer:
My dear,
Thanks for sending your query to us.
These are called vitreous floaters and tend to occur after such stressful situations. They are also seen normally with advancing age.The gel at the back of aye liquifies as the age advances and fibrils appear as dark spots floating around with the movement of eye.
They do not require any treatment and tend to resolve on their own.Vitamin C is usually advised and if they don't start regressing soon a retinal examination is recommended.
Though disturbing, they are usually of no consequence.Do get back to me in case of any further query in this regard.
