What Do Punctured Wounds Indicate Despite Not Healing For Three Weeks?

Posted on Thu, 26 Oct 2017
Question: my cat got in a cat fight and i got in the middle of it to break it up.i got a puncture wound on the top of my knuckle. My whole right hand became swollen all over the top of my hand and left a blister on the top of my knuckle.it poped and blood came out and so did the white mucas stuff.the swelling has completly gone away and the puffy blister has turned into soft and hard little lump on my right knuckle.I did put iodine on it when the blister was still freshly open.it has been almost 3 weeks since it happened.not sure what to think of the hard little lump under the skin.It did have sore bruised feeling to it but that is pretty much gone.It is just the little lump under my skin i am concerned about.

Brief Answer:
Please attach a photo.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Can you please attach a photo of it?
If something does not heal, after an injury, a foreign object under the skin should be considered. It might be a tiny piece of a nail for example. It may be also nothing. For sure you have had a bacterial infection of your hand which seems to be gone right now.
Hard lump is nothing urgent. You may wait and see. If few more weeks wont cause it go away, you should than consult a surgeon.

Hope this helps.
Regards.

No need to do anything with it.

Detailed Answer:
Well, it does not look alarming. Just a typical postinflammatory reaction. Please give it few more weeks.
