What Do Pain And Cramps In The Hips And Legs Indicate?
Question: I've got pain in my leg that starts on the outside of my hip and runs all the way down to my ankle. It started suddenly and felt like I had a cramp in my upper outside of my leg. I thought when I stood up and straightened my leg out it would go away. But it never did. It's been three days and it cramps on the whole right side of my thigh down to my ankle. I can't think of anything I did to cause an injury. I was cleaning out closets and was getting up and down off a chair to reach the high shelves and a made numerous trips up and down stairs. Other than that I didn't do any activity that put severe strain on my leg but it began that night after I had been cleaning. At first I was afraid it was sciatica but it doesn't hurt in my back nor is the pain in the back of the leg. It is completely on the outside of my left leg. Do you know what is causing the pain and what can I do to get some relief? It gets so stiff every time I sit down for a little while that I can hardly stand up and walk. Thank you for any advice you can give me.
