What Do My Blood Test Reports Indicate?
Question: Hello Doctor,
I conducted master health check up for my mother who is 59 years old. I have attached the blood report for your review. I find that Creatine, Urea & Microalbumin levels are bit elevated. I am worried about this. Also her fasting sugar level is 127 and cholesterol total is 233.
To tell about her past medical investigations, she was diagnosed with severe gastro infection which caused her dreadful loose stools and excess dehydration. As a result, her renal parameters went up and she was performed with dialysis for 3 to 4 times, after which the infection came down and the renal parameters became normal.
Her Dialysis was also stopped and for the past 4 years, she was fine with normal parameters.
With thee current report, with an elevated creatine i am worried now.

Hi ,
the reports show early kidney disease with creatinine of 1.3 also it shows that she has diabetes mellitis.
you need to control sugar and cholesterol with diet, exercise and medicines.
also you need a regular follow up with nephrologist with good bp control.
as you have described she earlier had an episode of acute renal failure. so what happens is such episodes leave behind some damage in the kidneys. over time this becomes evident with rise in serum creatinine.
But rest assured this should not blow out into full blown renal failure if you keep a check on things as described
