I would explain as follows:

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome on HCM!

Regarding your concern, I would like to explain that as your heart feels fluttery the main issue that should be considered for clinical investigation is a possible cardiac arrhythmia.

That's why your doctor has asked a resting ECG and after resulting normal; it was followed by a Holter monitoring recommendation (which enables a prolonged exploration of heart rhythm and hence the opportunity of detecting any potential cardiac arrhythmia events).

As Holter monitoring doesn't confirm any arrhythmic events; this is a good news!

You should be glad and try to relax!

From the other hand, that occasional ST-T wave abnormality doesn't have any consistent clinical significance, as in getting those patterns are involved several non-relevant factors (including also positional changes during registration).

Holter monitoring is not a sufficient specific test for studying possible cardiac ischemic changes (ST-T alterations).

So, you shouldn't worry too much about that!

Meanwhile, it is necessary to perform additional medical tests, in order to explore possible responsible causes of your recent complaints:

- complete blood count (for excluding anemia),
- thyroid hormone levels (possible thyroid dysfunction),
- blood electrolytes level (possible imbalances),
- fasting blood glucose level,
- cardiac ultrasound

In addition, I would like to directly review your Holter test result.

Could you upload it here for a second professional opinion?

Hope you will find this answer of some help!

In case of any further uncertainties, feel free to ask me again.

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri
