Brief Answer:

Infection and depletion of normal gut flora. Bad smell is suggestive of improper fermentation of food and infection by toxic bacterias.

This means that there are colonies of toxic yeast and bacterias causing inflammation in the intestine and improper putrification and fermentation of food. Which antibiotic were you on?

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Malabsorption is also a common cause of foul-smelling stool. Malabsorption occurs when your body is unable to absorb the proper amount of nutrients and water from the food you eat.

This generally occurs when there's an infection or disease that prevents your intestines from absorbing nutrients from your food smelling stools can also be caused by a change in your regular diet.

The infection causes inflammation of intestine hence water is not absorbed properly and a large amount of mucus is secreted.

Suggestions-

*Take only properly cooked veg food for a few days.
*Drink boiled water.
*No dairies except curd and yogurt.
*Consume probiotic foods. This may include specific types of yogurt or supplements that help combat invasive bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract.
*Eat fruits and vegetables. The added fiber will help cleanse the colon.

Tests suggested-

Stool test to rule out infection.

Which antibiotic were you on?

I would suggest you take
Rifaximin once daily
Secnidazole 1 gram once daily for 10 days
VSL#3 probiotic should be taken twice daily for 21 days.

Hope I have answered your query.

Take care
