What Do Asthma, Chest Pain, Fatigue And Fever Indicate After The Removal Of A Cyst?
Question: I am concerned my adopted daughter had a cyst on her left lung at birth was removed at 3 weeks. Has had asthma but now she complains of left chest pain especially when very active plus she then gets very pale and tired and not eating well. Does at times run a fever 100 or 99. She had no idea about her lung. She does not sound wheeze like asthma this has been going on for about 3 weeks. She then gets anxious which does not help.
Brief Answer:
Better to get done CT thorax.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
By your history and description, we should definitely rule out pulmonary AV (arteriovenous) malformation.
It is recurrent and cause cyst like swellings in lung.
It causes mixing of venous and arterial blood so patients gets pale attacks with breathlessness and chest pain.
So we should definitely rule out recurrence of cyst like AV malformation in your daughter's case.
So get done fresh CT thorax with contrast.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your daughter. Thanks.
