What Do HCG Level Of 21 And Missed Periods Indicate?

Question: hello my name is Morgan and I just took two at home pregnancy tests and my HCG was 21 both of the Pregnancy tests were positive and I have now missed my period for 3 weeks and 1 day. And I was referred to a OB GYN doctor so does that mean I am pregnant.?

Home pregnancy tests are quite sensitive test which shall detect pregnancy as early as 2 weeks .

But the specificity of the test is not 100%, it means even if it is showing Positive there is a possibility ( though less ) that you may not be pregnant.

So there is high possibility that you may be pregnant but that needs further confirmation after OB GYN examination.

Hi

Any value of 25 and above is taken as pregnant . So lowest value is 25. This can depends on the day on which testing is done . So a value less than 25 doesn't indicate that a woman is not pregnant.
