What Could Cause Severe Radiating Pain Between The Neck And The Back?

Question: Gee I hope so == I am having severe pain in my neck that started in back (right at the base of my skull and is progressing around to the front of my neck. It seems impervious to even prescription pain killers. I had a brain MRI about 10 days ago that was completely normal. Any ideas?
