Answer few questions, start antihistaminic

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

I have gone through your complaints and need a few questions answered:
- Do you have any rash associated with itching? If yes kindly upload its pictures so that I can have a clearer picture of your condition.
- What is the duration of itching?
- Do you have any other ailments or taking any medicines?
- Do you have history of dry skin, eczema or asthma?

Kindly revert with the answers. Meanwhile you can take antihistamine like tablet Cetrizine twice daily.

Hi, thank you for your reply.
I have no history of dry skin, eczema, or asthma.
I am not taking any medications and no rash associated with the itching.
I get scabs from the itching. they will not heal. some I have had for a couple of years. they itch, on and off every day.
and I am not diabetic
is Cetrizine an over the counter medicine?

Brief Answer:
Cetrizine is over the counter medicine

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

You seem to be having pruritus. Yes, you can take tablet Cetrizine twice daily and it is an over the counter drug.

Also, apply Cortisone cream on the affected areas twice daily along with frequent and liberal application of a moisturizing lotion containing white soft paraffin on the entire body 2-3 times in a day. This should help in relieving your problem.

Hope I have answered your query.
