What Causes Withdrawal Bleeding After Taking Plan-B?

default
Posted on Thu, 14 Jan 2016
Question: Hi,

i took Plan B on the 14th of December a couple hours after sex. So we started with unprotected sex which lasted for about 20 seconds before we thought that was the most ridiculous thing we could've done. Of course we ended it with him have a condom on. I took Plan B just in case.
A few days late i started to bleed for about 3 days. At the end of that i had some brown discharge that lasted foe 2-3 days. I would say on 22nd or 23rd of December, my nipples were SO sore and it ended on the 26th of December. The next day 27th of December, my breasts were VERY tender. A lot more tender than my normal (a week before period kind of tenderness). Yesterday was the 28th, and i had some white discharge and later that day i had some cramps that i would normally feel on the first day i start my period. I honestly thought my period would start but all that really came out was some white discharge. My period doesn't due until around January 2nd-5th). I just wanted to know am i going to expect late period or am i pregnant?

Brief Answer:
Symptoms due to emergency pill intake

Detailed Answer:
Hello mam, thanks for trusting health care magic.
I understand your health concerns.
It is most likely your upcoming period which is XXXXXXX in coming week and not pregnancy.
The bleeding you had a week back was a withdrawal bleeding after ipill intake which is common.
These symptoms are also due to emergency pill which has high dose of progesterone.
So nothing to worry and just wait for your periods.
All the best.

So with my breasts being very tender on the 27th. The 28th, my breasts isn't as tender anymore. So example, the 27th of December was 10(out of a 1-10 scale). The 28th was a 4 or 5 so it doesn't hurt as much.
You don't think it's any pregnancy symptom, Just some "before period stuff" after taking Plan B?
And do you think my period will delay?

Brief Answer:
Side effects of progesterone

Detailed Answer:
Yes dear your periods can get delayed or may come well on time so nothing to worry as all this is related to the high dose of progesterone in emergency pill.
This tenderness is related to the same factor.
