What Causes Withdrawal Bleeding After Discontinuation Of Utovlan?

Question: Hi I stopped taking Utovlan 3 days ago (was purely to delay a period whilst on holiday and never used before) and period started yesterday and bleeding as normal. However today I have had heavy cramping and a very thick white substance has also appeared - is this normal?

It is withdrawal bleeding. It is normal.

Utovlan (norethisterone) is a hormone supplement and after it is withdrawn, withdrawal bleeding occurs within a few days. That is what you are describing. It is absolutely normal.

In case of excessive cramping you can take Drotin M (drotaverine + mefenamic acid) as per requirement.
