Brief Answer:
It is important to rule out PVD.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXX
Thanks for writing to HCM

Normal resting ankle-brachial index is 1.0 - 1.2.
Above 1.2 need further evaluation. It is important to rule out peripheral vascular disease(PVD).So,you need colour doppler study of arterial system in lower limb with raised ankle-brachial index.

Besides this, you need few routine investigations relevant to your case.
It includes routine hemogram,Random blood sugar,Liver function test,Lipid profile,Renal function test,Thyroid profile,Vitamin D and calcium level,Vitamin B12 estimation.Further investigations can be done if needed.

Proper treatment depend upon findings. You need proper clinical evaluation,so you need referral.
