Question: It has been almost a month that my husband had a strangulated hernia repair done, he got staples they are red around them he won't let me take him to get them out. He took a metal back scratcher and took one of them out he said that the others can stay in for all he cares. He is in CHF. Also he has been having a lot of pain in his stomach has been nauseated and vomiting, with diaherra and says that there is a spot on the left side that is hurting says he knows that he needs to be in the hospital but refuses to go . Any suggestionswhen he threw up it was green like bile, and the diaherra is like baby poop yellow

Brief Answer:
Please, convince and get him to the hospital!

Detailed Answer:

Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about all what you have recounted here. It is very demanding taking care of a sick person and even more concerning when the person categorically denies to cooperate in the care. Your frustrations are genuine and show how deep and sincere you care about your husband. I am sure he has not realized how much pain it causes you to see him succumb to illness and possible complications from negligence.

On this same note, have an honest discussion with him. Tell him what he represents to you, how much you love him and how much you would like to see him get back into good health and be there for you. Let him also understand how it hurts to see in such a state and how well you wish to put this behind you. Give as many reasons as possible, using memorable moments from your past and capitalizing on uncompleted projects that you know he has so much interest in and would love to see them to fulfillment. All this would try to make him change his stand and become more concerned about his condition and contributing to his care.

From all the information, he has probably developed a complication related to his surgery. Full evaluation and proper treatment is needed. You would need to do all in your powers to get him there. I know he may be feeling like life isn't worth it again. Provide all the reasons and motivation for him to turn around and be more positive and optimistic about has health and future beyond this illness. I honestly believe he has got many more years to carry on than abandoning at such an early stage.

I hope this helps. I wish him well. Thank you so much for using our services and do feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
