Brief Answer: She needs admission in Obstetrics ward. Detailed Answer: Hi XXXXX , Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns. Vomiting around 12 weeks of pregnancy is normal but if she is not stopping even with doxynate and having loose motion also i am afraid that she needs to be admitted. This is because: 1) She needs to be started on intravenous anti vomiting drugs which are more effective than doxynate. 2) Also since she is not able to eat anything it will harm her baby as not enough food is going to it. So she needs to be started on IV glucose for few days. 3) Also loose motion is definitely not normal and a sign of bacterial infection. She needs to be started on appropriate antibiotics which are safe to baby. 4) Also she needs to be monitored for ketosis ( it happens in excess vomiting and is dangerous) All this cannot be done without getting her admitted at least for 3-4 days. So i will advice her admission in Obstetrics ward as soon as possible. Feel free to consult me directly http://bit.ly/drsombiswas Regards Dr. Som Biswas M.D. Mumbai
