Brief Answer:
I suggest the following examinations to exclude heart problems...

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you for asking!
I read your query and understood your concerns.

Only a lot of dark blue veins on your arms isn't enough to determine if you have a heart condition. For the moment you should be relaxed and you should plan for some further test to find out the right etiology of your problem.

If you were my patient i would recommend to run the following examinations to exclude any cardiac complication of ulcerative colitis:
- ECG
- Cardiac ECHO
- Stress test
- Holter monitoring
- Doppler ultrasound of arm arteries (to find out why you see dark blue veins)
If everything is normal than you shouldn't worry about that finding.

Hope this was of help!

Brief Answer:
A picture of dark blue veins is needed..following other causes

Detailed Answer:
Hi back XXXXXXX

1. I should have a look at the dark blue veins you are referring first. Can you please provide a good picture of them?

2. Other possible causes include:
- vein occlusion which will be determined by Doppler ultrasound of arm's blood vessels
- fast weight loss you might have faced recently
