Question: Hi doc, gas a cystoscopy, urethscopy biopsy and diathermy to eradicate bleeding or haematuria. After 5 days blood is still visible with some clots....On the 3 and 4 days there was not bleeding or clots visible and now on the 5 day blood has returned with clots...i noticed when I really stress to urinate I can feel a little bit stinging and then blood...Please advise as im worried after op it doesn't seem to improve....

Thanks for your query,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you undergone Cystoscopy and cauterization 5 days back and still have bleeding .

This bleeding is from the raw area created due to cauterization and gradually stops as the wound heals up.The bleeding that you have is due to secondary hemorrhage that is common after cauterization.

Please ensure to take antibiotics for one more week.

Ensure to drink more water it will help to wash out the clots and help in healing .

Do not worry it is bound to stop within a week.
