What Causes Vaginal Spotting After Taking Premarin?
Question: My doctor (pcp) has been treating me with Premarin 10mg for 10 days in hopes it would restart my periods as she fears endometrial cancer. It has yet to be successful. I was to have an appt today with her, but it got canceled due to illness in her family.
I am 45 obese and have no children and have had pehaps 2 cycles in the past 18 months. I was going to ask her today if i needed to go ahead and make an appt with gynecologist (i will admit to being a tad hypochondriacal). The appt has been rescheduled for next week, so i can chat with her then, but wanted an opinion before that time.

Withdrawal bleeding after taking Premarin can be delayed for as long as one week. If you have recently stopped Premarin then you can wait for a week and see if the bleeding starts. To rule out an endometrial cancer you will need proper investigations like ultrasound and endometrial biopsy. You will need an appointment with a gynecologist for that.
