What Causes Vaginal Pain During Intercourse?

default
Posted on Tue, 5 May 2015
Question: Hi doctor. I got married 1 month back. Before marriage, I used to watch porn and masturbate 3-4 times a week and used to get a good erection every time. I never had sex before marriage. After marriage, for the 1st 3 to 4 days, we didnt try penetration. We had lots of foreplay and I used to get good erection. 5th day when we tried penetration, she stopped me as soon as I touched her vagina with my penis. She was getting lots of pain. Immediately I lost my erection. Same thing happened on 6th day too. I even lost some hardness when I was wearing condom. The next day, We didn't try penetration but I was not getting erection, or only getting mild erection, even during foreplay. After that, I came to a different place for a month or so (work related), leaving my wife back home. Now, for past 10 days or so, I am not at all getting erection. Even when I watch porn, when I try to masturbate, I am not getting erection. I am not even getting that feel when I watch porn now. I am very scared now. I am worried that when I go back home, I might not get erection when I am with her. Please help.
One more thing, when I have a long erection and I don't ejaculate in the end, I feel pain in my balls. Is that common?

Brief Answer:
you have problem likely due to anxiety

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing to us.

I can understand your concern.

You are newly married and I congratulate for the same.

Initially after marriage many couple face sex related problems. It will take 1-2 months until their sex life come on track normally.

For good erection constant exciting erotic feelings must be present in mind.If your mind is diverted to something else apart from sex, erection is going to lose.Initially after marriage female feels pain and same occurred in your wife. In first 5 attempts cause of loosening erection is situational in your case. This erection dysfunction has created anxiety in your mind. After that whenever you think for sex, thought of loosening erection and failure of past erection come into your mind and your penis does not get erect. This is purely psychological problem, no physical/pathological problem at all. Remember that you had good erection after marriage while doing foreplay and this thing almost rules out physiological problem.

I suggest to relax yourself from apprehension of not being able to achieve erection. You can do sex normally for sure.Whenever you go back to your wife, do not think about erection. Try to enjoy foreplay and have a good romance. Penis will get erect automatically. By chance if you can not, low dose anti anxiety pill like benzodiazepine can help.

For a while try to enjoy masturbation without any apprehension.I hope you can do it.

Your query,
"One more thing, when I have a long erection and I don't ejaculate in the end, I feel pain in my balls. Is that common?"

For answer of this question,I need to know something.

-Since when this problem is there?

-Why no ejaculation after long erection is there? Is it there by your self or you feel difficulty in ejaculate?

-For how much duration pain last there?

Waiting for answers form your side to help you further.

Regards,
Dr.Chintan Solanki.

Thanks for your answer. I understood what you are saying. But I think, since I am away and I have 1 month time all by myself, these apprehensions should subside and once I watch porn again, I should get erections again. But it has been 10 odd days even watching porn and masturbating didnt help. Is that ok?

-Since when this problem is there?
A) this once happened a couple of years ago. Again now, when I lose erection before ejaculation.

-Why no ejaculation after long erection is there? Is it there by your self or you feel difficulty in ejaculate?
Not difficulty. Just before ejaculation, because of various factors like my wife feeling pain etc, i lost erection and cudnt ejaculate.

-For how much duration pain last there?
Maybe for an hour or so. It goes away if I take rest.

Brief Answer:
Pain of testicles is called blue balls pain

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for follow up and sorry for delayed reply.

Considering your age and history I think apprehension is still there. As I told try to do masturbation with relax mind and without any thought of erection. You will succeed.Try the same and revert back to me.

When someone get aroused and penis becomes erect but due to some factors orgasm/ejaculation is not possible, pain in testicles occurs. This phenomenon is called , 'Blue Balls pain'.

When a man becomes sexually aroused, the arteries that carry blood to his genitals enlarge, while the veins that leave the genital area constrict, allowing less blood to escape. This uneven rate of blood flow increases the quantity and pressure of blood flow and traps it in the genital area. This pressure is responsible for producing an erection and making the testes swell to be 25-50% larger than their normal size. If an orgasm is achieved, the blood vessels will return to their normal size and the volume of blood in the genitals quickly returns to its normal level. By contrast, if a man does not have an orgasm/ejaculation, blood in the genitals builds up through a process called vasogongestion and may create sensations of heaviness, aching, or discomfort.

The simplest remedy for blue balls is orgasm and ejaculation. Masturbation is often the most viable way to achieve this orgasm, especially when partner is absent or does not want to have sex. Testicular pain may dissipate slowly after orgasm, or on its own once the individual is no longer aroused and takes rest.

So no need to worry about pain in balls, it is just due to temporary erection problem.

Hope this answers your query, feel free to discuss further for more doubts.

Best of luck.
