default
Posted on Thu, 16 Apr 2015
Question: I had a boil on my vagina on one side & it finally got well then I had one on the other side and now its is well but I have so much discomfort all in that area. It burns & stings but does not itch. I am so uncomfortable & have tried diaper rash meds, aloe, Neosporin & dermoplast & still am not getting relief. Can you tell me what to do for this.

Brief Answer:
Can be viral infection, vaginal atrophy, infection.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
The presence of discomfort in the area can be due to dermatitis, viral infection like herpes or a nerve related problem. It needs a close examination to find out any local lesion like herpes or dermatitis. A vaginal infection also needs to be ruled out after a vaginal swab culture. In case all these are negative then postmenopausal vaginal atrophy or a nerve related problem needs to be considered.
It is best to consult your gynecologist for a proper examination. Self medication like this may not help.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.
