What Causes Vaginal Bleeding Post Intercourse?

default
Posted on Wed, 28 Jan 2015
Question: I'm a 43 yr old, healthy female. I've been with the same guy for 2 1/2 years now. During our last intercourse he "popped out" and then back in, nothing dramatic and has happened before. Only this time I had a lot of bleeding but not really any pain. The next morning I had stinging when urinating so I checked and I had a tear on my labia minora area. It wasn't real long but it was deep. It's been 4 days and this is the first day I've been pain free when going to the bathroom. I've been confirming that the tear has been healing. This has never happened before so I'm just curious what may have caused this and if it's a matter I should be concerned with.

Brief Answer:
Nothing to worry about if the tear has healed.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
Has the tear healed ?
Can you upload a picture of the tear now - how good /bad is it now ?
As per your history, this sounds like a vaginal tear, due to friction while re insertion of the penis.
If it has healed there is nothing to worry.
Just use lubrication ( KY jelly ) during intercourse.
As long as it does not recur / persist beyond a week - there is nothing to be concerned about.
All the best
