What Causes Urinary Incontinence?

default
Posted on Mon, 12 May 2014
Question: I wanted to ask, I am having a problem with my bladder, I get the urge and next thing it starts to come out and I wear depends but sometimes that doesn't help. I have been fighting this for a year. I am 61 and I had a complete hysterectomy in 1984, could my bladder have fallen. I hear that is common or would it be just an infection. One other footnote, I have hep c and it's bad enough my doctors have me getting on the waiting list for a new liver, could that affect my bladder to cause this problem.

Brief Answer: Cystocele Detailed Answer: HI. This looks to a prolapse- a cystocele- 1 year history. Yes you can say the bladder is fallen. Hep-C can cause this indirectly as the muscles holding the urinary bladder go weak with time, age, weakness inherent with so many medical problems. Examination with the Gynecologist will help further to decide the management, can be a surgery is the Gynecologists feels it necessary.
