What Causes Upper Back Pain And Tightness?
Question: Hi...within the last 3 weeks Ive developed a occasional tightness and minor pain in my upper back. It seems to be both side but more so on one side. It makes it difficult to take a deep breath. It seems to come and go. When it happens if I force a deep breath it will make me cough. Seems like I've had this in the past once or twice.

I read carefully your historhistory about your concern.
It would be better for you to examine your lungs.
Do a chest x Ray ,a D dimer blood test.
If they are negative than the stomach should be excluded too.Sometimes stomach problems rreflects with this symptom.
An ultrasound of the abdomen might help to find the cause.
