What Causes Upper Arm Pain?
Question: My 35 yr old daughter has upper arm muscle discomfort/soreness described as she feels like she just finished a vigorous upper arm work out. General fatigue. Normally energetic but having difficulty completing workday and evening tasks. Abnormal labs are MCV 98; UIBC 117; Serum Iron 196; Iron Sat 63; DHEA Sulfate 77.1. Occasional waves of nausea. What in the world is going on with my oherwise healthy daughter? What specialist should she see?

Well looking into your problem I would like to tell you that upper arm pain can have many causes , it needs physical examination and various manouveres to see the origin of pain . But we can discuss the possibilities.
In my opinion you should see orthopaedician for the same . A CPK , ESR , RBS , X ray shoulder and ultrasound of shoulder will be required to reach to a diagnosis and rule out frozen shoulder , bursitis etc. Please see a doctor at the earliest .

I have seen the labs that you have provided , they are pointing towards iron deficiency and DHEA are markers for adrenal glands , these have got no link to her present problem . Since it is affecting bilaterally muscle dysfunction needs to be looked at so CPK is suggested . Frozen shoulder can also occur bilaterally.
