Hi thanks for your reply. I do smoke and i drink alcholol on the weekend (friday and saturday) i do get bouts of diharea now and then but most of the time my stools are loose or runny. I have had a very mild burning in upper abdomrn but nothing that causes me to worry about it. Im worried as my auntie died of bladder cancer and my father has been diagnosed with liver cancer. No history of belching

Brief Answer: .... Detailed Answer: Hi... Try to avoid smoking and alcohol, which can cause gastritis etc. Do take probiotics like lactobacilli which will help maintain the normal flora of the gut. A course of pantoprazole (antacid) will help reduce the burning sensation in the upper abdomen. Drink enough fluids / ORS to rehydrate your body. Avoid spicy, oily food, tea, coffee, carbonated beverages. Avoid pickles and pappad. Hope this helps. In case you don't feel better after all these measures, visit a gastroenterologist and get a stool routine examination, Ultrasound abdomen and Colonoscopy done if necessary. Regards,.
