What Causes Unilateral Numbness And Tingling Sensation In The Thigh?
Question: I experienced a painful muscle pull in my right side lower back in early February. Several weeks later I developed numbness in the right side of my thigh, and now I am experiencing periodic tingling in the thigh. Today the numbness and tingling have moved to the knee and below knee areas. Also, today, the left side of my scalp is numb. The back pain is completely gone, but I am wondering if there is nerve damage, whether I should go to a doctor, and what kind of doctor that should be.

Advice to consult a Primary care provider
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank You for trusting HealthcareMagic
The numbness you are experiencing could be due to spinal problems, peripheral nerve problems or central nervous problems like stroke.
Thorough physical examination is needed to guide to appropriate investigations and diagnosis.
However, MRI spine, CT brain, and nerve conduction studies are required to come to a definite diagnosis. Blood sugar levels also need to be checked.
Please be advised to consult a Primary care provider, who can get necessary investigations done and refer to a specialist if needed.
