What Causes Uncomfortable Sensation During Urination?

default
Posted on Mon, 18 May 2015
Question: I keep getting this uncomfortable sensation that I need to urinate . Not urgent but distressing. I have to dink a lot of water to urinate then it feels better for a short while ,then it starts all over again.. I don't have any infection. No trouble passing urine.when I go it is a normal amount ,no burning or pain. Most of the time i will need to massage my bladder to make myself urinate easier when I get these sensations I have had all the tests and scope examination also and they tell me it is nothing abnormal. Could this be related to the 27 external radiation treatments I had 2 years ago..Or pressure from gas in bowels.l

Brief Answer:
radiation cystitis likely

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and I understand your concern. Radiation cystitis is the words for your question. With all the labs clear this urgency and frequency is likely attributed to all those 27 radiation cycles you had .

You need a complete uti dynamic studies and bladder tone workup. Usually such cystitis present with friable bladder mucosa and prone to ulceration and bleeding. But lower grades may present with just these urgency frequency symptoms can easily be managed with medications like anticholinergic, analgesics, sclerosing agents and estrogen derivatives. Discuss all these options with your urologist.

I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and don't forget to close the discussion please.
