Brief Answer:
probably not pregnant

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for your question.
Tubal ligations do occasionally fail but it is very rare. If your pregnancy test was taken 3 weeks after last sex or one week after a missed period then it is probably accurate.
If you are not sure, then wait a week and check another one.
Hormonal shifts can occur for various reasons, even stress, and can cause irregular periods and even sometimes pregnancy symptoms.
If you still are not certain see your doctor for a blood pregnancy test. The urine tests are pretty good but the blood tests are even better.
Best wishes,
Dr. Robinson
