Brief Answer:
Pain cannot be without pathology in Root Canal filling tooth..

Detailed Answer:
Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain pain in your Root Canal treatment tooth that is capped but is still painful after treatment cannot be normal and you need proper evaluation and re-treatment for relieving pain..

Metronidazole (Metrogyl 400mg) is appropriate in reducing infection in your tooth and is generally not seen to cause any severe side effects..
If you experience any problems stop the medicine and consult your dentist..
If you experience stomach upset while taking antibiotics you can take Pantoprazole or Omeprazole Once Daily in empty stomach till you are on antibiotics..

As you are having pain for which you are advised Lyser-D that contains Diclofenac and suitable for mild and moderate pain..

If pain is severe you can take Ketorolac (Ketorolac DT) for pain relief..

You also need to consult an Endodontist and get X-rays done with changing the angulation to be more precise and keen to check for the cause of pain that can include crown or Root fractures, gum infection other than infection in tooth..

As of now take Ketorolac or Tramadol for pain relief and can also apply numbing gel containing Lignocaine over the gum of the painful tooth..

You can also cool your food to room temperature to avoid sudden sensitivity and pain due to hot food..

Please upload image of your x ray for better understanding of the cause of pain..

Any further questions are welcome..

Hope this helps..

Regards.

Brief Answer:
Wait for atleast 5 days..

Detailed Answer:
Hi..
Welcome back..

As per your query, if everything is fine and no problem is detected in the x ray you should take the medication for about 5 days and if still there is no improvement then you can revert back to your dentist..

Along with it you should also apply numbing gel over the gum of the tooth to reduce sensitivity..

Any further queries are welcome..

Regards.
