Yes tonsils should be present in people who have tonsil stone ..they can not happen in people whose tonsils have been removed due to some reason.




If by having tonsils you mean infected swollen inflammed tonsils then in my opinion and experience it is not necessary to have unhealthy tonsils to have tonsil stones some times non swollen healthy tonsils can have tonsil stones.Only a tuct may be blocked or a collection xan be there which becomes stone there is usually no big reason.
