What Causes Tiny Pinprick Bites On Torso Despite Clearing All Bedbugs From House?

default
Posted on Fri, 30 Jan 2015
Question: I've treated the house for bedbugs and now there are no signs of them. Now I am getting tiny pinprick bites on my torso, a few on arms and legs. I feel as though something is crawling on me at times. Could this be bed bug nymphs or something else like mites?

Hi again

I have seen the attached picture.
You are surely developing skin rashes .
Now these lesions do not look like bed bug bites to me.
Kindly canine the lesions closely and tell if you notice any fluid filled blisters also ?
Any associated pain or itching ?
Any fever ?
Are the lesions more over torso and upper arms and legs ?Any lesions over face or scalp?
I am asking these questions since I need to rule out pityriasis rosea and chicken pox .

No fever. No blisters. Lesions mostly in torso a few on arms and legs, usually upper arms and legs. They are itchy, not painful. I have had a couple on my face and the edge of the scalp where the hair meets the face skin. Found one on the "hinge" of my jaw yesterday.

Detailed Answer:
Hi again

Thanks for the details

You seem to have developed pityriasis rosea which is essentially a harmless and self limiting skin condition .
But I would surely advise you to see a nearby doctor soon since a complete head to toe examination would be essential in your case for confirmation of the diagnosis.
For the time being ,apply calamine lotion over the affected areas twice daily .
