Question: Hi sir my mom name is xxxxxxx . In November 2016 she had been admitted in hospital because she felt severe pain in her leg and not able to sit or stand . In the very beginning of her diagnosis they suspected malignancy later after all tests and biopsy the confirmed that it is TB and they started ATT medication but even after taking medicines for 3 months no improvement except she was able to walk for some distance but she was not able to sit so we took her to hospital back again they did MRI and told that she has to get operated so she got operated in SPINE in the month of February and it is spine fusion surgery, they kept around 12 screws in spine , now she is getting recovered slowly . My mom started sitting for more than 3 hours nowadays she is able to stand and walk perfect also but from the day she started walking and sitting frequent she is feeling some sort of tingling sensation in both legs and some sort of heaviness in the legs which is making me to worry a lot. Her ATT medication was over by Aug 15 and the doctor who operated my mom told that she no longer needed ATT medicines after examining her X-ray she told tremendous improvement he observed in her. At the first week of September we took ESR CRP and rest all parameters upon our own interest and everything was normal .She got a complaint stating that in her left leg she is feeling some nerve dragging kind off sensation . We approached the doctor he suggested re-nerve injection once my mom took that injection her pain and nerve dragging was completely gone but still she is feeling some heaviness in both legs and also she says that she feels like something is running inside her leg that kind off sensation she is reporting doctor who operated my mom saying that it is quite normal and will get resolved on its own once she started walking my mom is in XXXXXXX and I am working in US so worrying a lot even though my dad and sister taking care of mom please suggest whether she needs any further medication or diagnosis

Brief Answer:
Nerve related issue.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The sensation in the leg that she has is due to mild nerve irritation at the level of spine or low levels of vitamin B12. This can be aggravated by diabetes also. You can get her Vitamin B12 levels and blood sugar levels evaluated and in case any abnormality comes then start with proper supplements. She can also consult a neurologist and get nerve supplements prescribed for further improvement. This is not suggestive of any serious issue. So no need to worry.
I hope this answers your query.
