What Causes Tingling Sensation In The Left Hand?

default
Posted on Sat, 18 Feb 2017
Question: I am a 47 year old female, who exercises regularly, but I have been out of my routine over the holidays and have finally been getting back into the swing of things last week. The past couple of days, I've noticed my left hand tingling (like it's fallen asleep), off and on throughout the day. My blood pressure (taken a couple of days ago) was 110/70. Wondering if I should be concerned over this tingling in my hand?

Brief Answer:
Can be mild nerve root compression.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The tingling in the hand could be due to a mild nerve root compression at cervical vertebral level. You need to avoid using a pillow and avoid abnormal neck positions. Doing neck exercises and taking methylcobalamin supplements will help. It should subside in 1-2 weeks.
I hope this answers your query.
