Question: From last few weeks, my grand-father is complaining about tingling sensation in his head and leg. This mostly occurs when he woke-up post afternoon sleep and keep him uncomfortable for at least 30 minutes. He has been on medication for last couple of years so can not relate this sensation as side-effect of medication also.
I am interested in knowing if this is some known symptoms of any health concern or it is due to excessive best rest (due to age).

Brief Answer:
could be stress related anxiety if medical/biological problem are excluded

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for contacting Ayurveda with your health concern and after reviewing the case history I'm of the following opinion:

1. the reason of tingling could either be vascular changes [pkysiological] because of old age or can be due to:
. remaining in the same position for long time
. lack of vitamin B12 or any other vitamin [Important]
. abnormal level of potassium, sodium, calcium in body
. injury or pressure on a nerve
. and yes, the medicines which he is taking can cause tingling sensation in head [dizziness/syncope] so have a consultation with attending cardiologist

2. At his age one should also exclude possibilities like; stroke, under active thyroid, circulation problems, blood sugar.

3. seek an opinion of Neurologist/Medicine Specialist in this regard.
