What Causes Tingling Sensation In Lower Limbs?
Question: I have had a few "tingling" issues in my lower legs, which seem to go up to my thighs and stop. I have some sweating (not a lot), and if I just lay down for a few minutes, all goes back to normal. What could this be?
I am 68 years old and about 15 lbs. overweight (used to me 70 lbs). I have a doctor appointment on April 30.

Tingling sensation in lower limbs has many causes which varies from simple deficiency to brain involvement .
For my patients with similar complaints I would first get complete history and physical examination. Depending on examination findings few tests may required.
Common cause for such symptoms are
1. B 12 vitamin deficiency : which causes nerve damage. can be confirmed by doing test and improves with B 12 supplement.
2. Nerve damage from use of substances like alcohol or tobacco
3. nerve compression at spine from disc movement. examination do gives findings and MRI test confirms condition. Treatment varies accordingly.
