Question: Hi, my chest feels tight and it feels like something is stuck in my esophagus. I dont have heartburn. I play a lot of golf and I am not overweight. It is uncomfortable enough to wake me up in the middle of the night.

Thank you very much for your reply.
This started mildly 2 days ago and has increased in discomfort. As of about 20 minutes ago, I have severe diarrhea. Not sure if this is related or not, but veryunusual.The discomfort in my chest is not worse at night but does keep waking me up, but still the same this morning. Is uncomfortable when I move a certain way but was able to take my vitamins easily this morning.
I am very active and not overweight. No vomiting. I make homemade chicken jerky frequently and ate about 3-5 oz last night befoer bed, but this is not unusual. No other issues, very healthy.

Thanks for the details .

* Seems more of reflux oesophagitis which may be possible without heart burn
with intestine infection .

* Suggestions for better recovery

- Drink plenty of liquids with preferable boiled water , lemon juice , coconut water
green tea , coffee , butter milk .
- Soft , light diet at intervals with fresh curd preferable .
- Avoid all oily , spicy , non veg , beverages , chilly at present .

- Remain ambulatory with regular exercises , YOGA and deep breathing exercises
will recover faster .
- No smoking or alcohol if using .
- Keep foot end of the bed elevated for 30 degrees when resting .
- No sleeping for 3 hrs after meals .
- Avoid prolong fasting , over eating , keep stomach empty by 25 % during each
meal .

- Cap.omeprazole ( 20 ) mg morning and evening with sips of water , nothing to
be taken orally after that for 1 hr .
- Probiotic intake will also help a lot .
- Need of antibiotic depends upon the progress of the condition .

* Suggested follow up after 24 hrs of above .
To evaluate any need of lab tests , endoscopy or further .
