Brief Answer:
Could be Osteoarthritis knee or Slipped Disc.

Detailed Answer:
Hi I am Dr Gopal Goel , Orthopedic Surgeon.
Tightness in the back of knee and pain in the leg on walking are likely to be due to Osteoarthritis of the knee joint or may come down from back .I suggest that you get x ray of the knee to see for osteoarthritis. Visit to ER is not required for this.
I recommend pain killers , muscle relaxants and knee exercises for 2-3 weeks. If you don't feel any relief , then go for MRI back.
Thanx for the question. Please feel free to ask any other question.
