I just found out that I have some small nods (spelling?) on my thyroid gland what could this be?
also have a lump under my chin on the right side - have been taking anitbiotics for the past month.

Nodules can sometimes be found on imaging of the thyroid gland. They can occur on their own or more than one nodule can be present.
Nodules are extremely common.
Nodules may be benign (not associated with cancer) or they may be related to cancer of the thyroid (this is not as common).
Most are benign and do not cause any symptoms, in some cases there may be abnormal levels of the thyroid hormone.
There are certain factors that increase the chance of cancer such as : (a) previously exposed to radiation
(b)family history of thyroid cancer or a condition called multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome
(c)hoarseness
(D)rapid growth of the nodules
(e)difficulty swallowing
(f)paralysis of vocal cords
The size is also important, it helps to determine if a biopsy of the nodules is needed.
If they are large , your doctors may decide to do a biopsy to see if they are normal thyroid tissue or if there are any changes.
The lump under the chin may be a lymph node but this would needed to be determined by examination by your doctor.
Submandibular lymph nodes are in this area.
Lymph nodes enlarge due to inflammation in the area. This may be due to infection, trauma, allergies or cancer
