default
Posted on Thu, 2 Apr 2015
Question: The skin on the back of my hands and feet have gone drastically thin and hence veins are protruding in making my hands and feet look ugly. This condition started to happen when I was 35. On other parts of the body I am on plumpy side, in fact a bit overweight too. I do not have varicose veins though. Help me make my hands and feet presentable.

Brief Answer:
Age related Xerosis

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

You are in the fourth decade of life. You should expect some age related changes.

As one ages there are changes in the epidermis of the skin as thins out, a skill cells will reduce the turnover, and the skin’s limited capacity to retain moisture contribute to xerosis. Over time, skin loses its suppleness. There are environmental, genetic and other constitutional factors added to this and that determines how fast it thins.
So basically the skin is drying out fast. You need to moisturize it regularly may be thrice to five times a day with thick moisturizer. If you are living in high humid areas you can apply thin moisturizer as well. You can choose AVEENO/ HONEY OAT MEAL. You should apply it immediately after bath within 2 minutes on those areas which appear thin and veins protrude. Over this we also recommend commercially available products which contain alpha-hydroxy acids, which will help break down some of those thickened, dry skin cells.

You should see good results in a month.
