What Causes Tender And Sore Shoulder Post Injury?
- popped out swinging baseball bat, popped back in instantaneously, by the end of the swing. this happened 3 years ago. (the back of my shoulder was tender and a little sore after.)
- rested it for months and was able to play hockey and throw a football with up to say 80-90% velocity with no pain, which is satisfactory to me.
- picked up golf and now have stiffness and a bit of pain in the joint.
- i have full range of motion and strength when raising arm away from body and infront of my body.
- when stretching arm across my body i am limited in range and strength. doing a common stretch against my body it does not give the feedback of a normal stretch but gives a sensation more like pressure on the joint and the feel of something blocking it from stretching it completely. no sensation of my ligament stretching.
- when i hold my arm across my body and raise it from the bottom of my ribcage and up, by the time my arm reaches my chin i feel the same blocking feeling as i do when stretching, as well as a bit of pain.
I have not seen my family doctor yet, but i do plan on going in soon. I'm curious as to what it could be and what i may be in store for in the future.
thank you for your time and help,

There can be fluid collection inside your joint
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have read your question and I think there is collection of fluid in shoulder joint. It can happen due to any trauma or injury during playing or throwing. I would suggest you to get MRI of the shoulder joint. This will give us information if there is fluid collection in the joint or any tear of the tendon. X ray is usually normal and does not offer much information.
Till you get this investigation done I would recommend you to do hot water fomentation to shoulder. Avoid any strenuous exercises for time being.
I would also suggest you to take Etoricoxib tablet after discussing with your doctor.
Thanks.
