Question: My son is 28 years old. He's been feeling tired, lethargic, etc. for about a month. He sleeps all of the time; he's had recurrent sinus/cold infections for about 3 months. He recently developed very swollen tonsils with puss all over them. He went to the doc and they tested him for strep and for mono --- both tests were negative. His throat doesn't hurt. The doc put him on prednisone and augmentin. Then, he broke out in hives ALL OVER his body. The doc stopped the prednisone and augmentin. Zach could hardly breathe because his tonsils are so swollen. He can't talk properly either....kinda slurry. Anyway, Monday, the Doc gave him a shot of rocephin and put him on medrol doespak and clindamycin. He went back today and the doc checked him (Zach is not feeling very much better at all). Anyway, the DOC told him today to come back in the morning and he was going to give him another shot of rocephin and if his tonsil(s) was "ready", they would drain the abscess and take them out. Something is wrong with my son and there are other indicators that something is really wrong with him........please advise. Is it what I think it may be? He has never had a girlfriend and is a virgin.
